If 1,000 kettles were created and each one of those received $275 in donations, that's $275,000 to The Salvation Army (10% of our Tree of Lights goal) so we can give food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless, security to the abused, treatment to the addicted, and warmth to the elderly. (That's just a smidgeon of our wide array of services we provide to human beings, without discrimination.)

So, how can you help? Simple. Sign up for an Online Red Kettle, personalize it with a photo, set a reasonable goal (hey, we all want to raise $50 billion, but we're recommending you set it at $275 - which is one hundredth of one percent of our Tree of Lights goal), invite your family, friends, and coworkers to donate securely, then sit back and watch your kettle fill with generous donations from people you know.

Are you the leader of the pack? Set up a group kettle with a group goal, invite people to start their own kettles and join your group, then utilize the wonders of statistical theory to get your group goal met in no time.

Got a business? We want you to tell others about the great things you do by doing a great thing for The Salvation Army. Start a business kettle, a co-branded gem to promote your business and goodwill in your community!

Where's the money go? Glad you asked. The donor can designate their donation to go to The Salvation Army in their zip code (we're all over), in the zip code of the kettle host, or even to a different Salvation Army program or location of their choosing.

What's the money used for? To provide comfort and joy to those in need in communities just like yours all year long. It might be a toy for a child this Christmas or a cold bottle of water to a weary firefighter next summer. Be sure that The Salvation Army is Doing the most good with your generosity.

Thanks for your time and your generosity. And now, enjoy this video.
